Zenless Zone Zero: The Next Version Starts October 21, 2026

HoYoverse has not announced Zenless Zone Zero’s next version. It has, however, told us exactly when it starts: the official Version 3.2 announcement says the version runs 42 days and ends 2026/10/21 06:00 (UTC+8). ZZZ versions begin the moment the previous one ends, so October 21, 2026 is a first-party date, not an estimate.

Everything else you are reading about that update — the number, the name, the banners — is not confirmed. We are going to be explicit about which is which.

What this changes for you

• You have until October 21, 2026 to finish 3.2 content. That includes the current Agent banners and anything version-limited. If you have been letting Polychrome sit, this is your deadline, not “soon.”
• Free login rewards are still claimable. Version 3.2 hands out 10 Encrypted Master Tapes and 10 Boopons. Ten Tapes is a third of the way to a guaranteed pull on a standard account — worth opening the app for even if you are not playing.
• The free outfits run across two versions. HoYoverse states the Angels of Delusion faction series outfits can be obtained for free by taking part in events during Versions 3.2 and 3.3. Starting now is cheaper than starting after October 21.

What Version 3.2 actually added

The headline is structural: Armorer, a brand-new Agent Specialty built around balancing offense and defense, with damage that scales off DEF. Armorer Agents build Gash on enemies, and a full Gash stack triggers Maim. That is the first time ZZZ has shipped a Specialty that rewards a defensive stat line, and it changes which discs are worth keeping.

Two S-Rank Agents carry it: Claret, head of Flint Workshop, an Electric Armorer in the first half of the version, and Roxy, a Wind Stun Agent in the second half. The story, “Their Secret Histories,” sends the Proxies to Vyrium in the Shrouded Reef to treat the mutation in their body, where they find that Roscaelifer has been quietly infiltrated by TOPS while a Porcelloy shipment from Flint Workshop vanishes at a transfer station.

What is not confirmed

No version number for the October 21 update. No version name. No banner lineup. No Special Program date. Phoenix and Severian are the names circulating, and both are leak-tier — teased, not announced. Third-party sites place the Special Program around October 9-11, 2026 by extrapolating from past cadence; HoYoverse has said nothing.

If you see a confident “ZZZ 3.3 banners” list today, it is a guess with a headline.

Should you be playing right now?

If you own Armorer Agents, yes — the Gash and Maim loop is the most interesting mechanical addition in months and it is worth learning before the next version builds on it. If you are a lapsed player, there is no urgency beyond collecting the free Tapes and starting the outfit events, then waiting for the Special Program to decide whether the October 21 update is worth a return.

Mark the date, ignore the banner lists until HoYoverse publishes one.
